3k Course :
Course Description: GMAA is excited to welcome you to Trapp Family Lodge for the Vermont Middle School State Championship Cross Country Meet! The venue provides athletes with a challenging race course that incorporates many elements of Vermont. Spectators and participants will enjoy panoramic views of the Green Mountains, farmland, forest, and sugar woods. Competitors will race through fields, and woods on the spectator friendly course. Athletes will start at the far end of the Practice Meadow and race toward the Lodge, they will then turn crossing the Meadow again heading into the woods. This first section of woods will be downhill to the lowest elevation on the course at the Sugar House. Here the course turns and begins climbing back to the Meadow where spectators will see the athletes around the 1km mark. From here, the race course levels as it turns back into the woods and follows Russell Knoll trail, then sliding over onto Sugar Road to the half way point. Turning onto Fox Track a narrower trail that has a gradual two step climb before pitching up to the courses highest elevation just beyond the 2km mark. From here racers will come into view as they descend into the Meadow gaining momentum before the final turn for the slightly uphill sprint to the finish.
