SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

The Green Mountain Athletic Association (GMAA), the running club of Northwestern Vermont, is sponsoring two $500 scholarships for students graduating from Northwestern Vermont high schools.

ELIGIBILITY RULES:
The student:

  • has been accepted at an accredited two or four year college.
  • has participated in cross country running and/or track events in grades 11 and 12.
  • has maintained a B average in high school.
  • shows qualities of good citizenship and sportsmanship.
  • is a graduating senior at Middlebury, Vergennes, Mt. Abraham, BFA Fairfax, BFA St. Albans and any Chittenden County high school. NOTE: The high school location requirement is waived for GMAA members who have been members for at least one year prior to the application deadline.


Selection will be made by the GMAA Board of Directors. This form should be printed out and sent via snail mail. Applications must be received by April 15 to be considered. No materials will be returned. Please send only this application and your one page essay. Any additional information, including letters of recommendation and transcripts, will not be read. The recipient will be notified by mail in early June and the scholarship will be awarded at the graduation ceremony.
