|COURSE:||The certified (VT09006RF and VT90002WN) marathon and half-marathon begin and end near
the house where Clarence H. Demar, 7 time Boston Marathon Winner, once
lived. It is out and back on the west shore of South Hero and Grand Isle;
a land of farms, apple orchards and summer cottages. The terrain
is flat to rolling and about half dirt road (hard packed and well maintained).
The time cut off for the marathon is six hours.
|AID STATIONS:||There will be an aid station approximately every 2 miles starting at mile 2 and stopping at mile 24 for a total of 12 aid stations (2-3 porta-potties on course). Water and electrolyte drink will be supplied at all aid stations. Additional assistance
will be available to runners in the form of sweep vehicles.
Pre-registration only, fill out form located here or register online (online registration closes Sep 4).
Maximum total number of runners is 750.
There is no race refund if you cannot participate.
There is no wait list.
There are no bib transfers.
All participants will receive a race shirt. Note - shirts are unisex sized.
Other runners may pick up a friend or family member's race packet.

SKIRACK (located at 85 Main Street, in Burlington, VT) will be offering a 20% discount on all running gear to anyone who presents a GMM race Bib October 11th-October 14th.
|DIRECTIONS:||South Hero, Vermont is approximately 20 miles
from Burlington (nearest major airport). From Burlington, take I-89
north to the Milton/Lake Champlain Islands Exit 17 (Route 2); take Route
2 north and west to South Hero; South Street is a left turn in the center
of South Hero village at the 4 corners. Folsom School is 1 mile down
South Street on the left.
From New York, take exit 39 off Interstate 87 (Plattsburg) and take route 314 to the ferry across the lake; After the ferry turn right; at route 2 turn right and head towards South Hero Village.
Burlington, Vermont is located 100 miles from Montreal,
200 miles from Boston and 300 miles from New York City, and is easily accessible
via interstate highways and Burlington International Airport.
Results will be sent to the web sites of the GMAA,
England Runner and Cool Running.
Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers, the top masters, as well as the top male and female finisher in each age-group.
Medals to all marathon and half-marathon finishers.
The Folsom Schoolís 7th and 8th graders welcome you to South Hero, Vermont.
Come up a day early and join us at our Infinite Pastabilities Dinner on October
12 to help support our class trip to Boston. This event will run from 4:30 pm to
7 pm. Donít miss the opportunity to come and check out the running route and
dine on pasta with local vegetable, marinara sauce, meatballs, and local pesto
as toppings as well as salad and other sides. We also will before having a local
apple dessert competition, so donít miss the chance to be a judge and taste
the delicious apple delicacies that we will be serving to you.
