Weather: bright sunshine with no wind and temperatures in the low 50s
Race Directors: Matt Gallagher
Summary: 85 runners finished the race in ideal racing and folliage viewing conditions.
Many kids enjoyed their 1/4 mile race prior to the 10K as well.
Teage O'Connor started off fast and didn't look back. He hit 2 miles in 10:42 with a 20 second lead.
His lead widened to 1:15 by mile 4, and he finished 1:40 ahead in 32:19 - a 37 second course record.
Past Tudhope winner Josh Brown and Andrew Fritz traded positions during the race, with Josh a couple seconds
ahead at mile 2 in 11:02. Andrew was ahead of Josh at the 5K, but Josh used a strong second half to return to
the number 2 spot in convincing fashion in 33:59. Andrew's final time was nearly a minute back in 34:51.
The women's race was very similar with Anne Treadwell breaking out to a 37 second lead at 2 miles in 13:23.
Cathy Eustis, in second, was 10 seconds ahead of third place Jessica Kallis. At mile 4, Anne had a 50 second
lead and Jessica moved in the number 2 spot, 20 seconds ahead of Cathy. Anne was able to hold off Jessica's
strong second half and the two distanced themselves from Cathy. The three finished in
41:37, 42:23, and 43:18 respectively, making this Anne's second win in three years.
Age group records went to Teage, Josh, and Chuck Arnold (40:11 for the 60s). An interesting fact is that
Chuck, Ted McKnight, and Peter Davis all surpassed Peter's old 60s age group record.
