2005 Final Grand Prix Standings
Congratulations to Michael Early and Cindy New who had the highest point totals of 20 and 30. Cindy's total was the highest ever, surpassing Nathan Fields record of 24 from 2004. Her points came from 4 overall wins, 4 age group firsts and one second. Additionally, she became the first person ever (member or non-member) to win three consecutive GMAA races (Archie Post - Common to Common 30K - Art Tudhope 10K). Michael and Nathan Fields had a close race for the highest men's total all year, and it came down to the final meters of the Tudhope 10K, with Michael beating Nathan by less than a second to claim that victory and with it the grand prix series title. Dave Fields continued his 6 year GMAA streak by adding another 11 races, and now has finished 65 consecutive GMAA races. The closest division was the 0-19 girls with Virginia Farley winning the five way tie breaker by competing in more GMAA races than the others. In total, 45 men and 51 women earned at least one point.
