5th Annual GMAA Trollheim 5K

Summary: The Green Mountain Athletic Association began its "nice weather" season with its traditional Trollheim 5Km race. John "Tex" MacKay led all the way on the hilly, dirt road course. While his time of 15:58 is impressive in of itself, his performance is remarkable when you consider that Tex had warmed up by running all the way from Burlington, fifteen miles or so away! It must have worked, because a week later MacKay ran a PR of 2:21 for third place in the National Capitol Marathon in Ottawa.  The Valentine family had a good day too, as Amy was the women's winner and John took the men's submaster division. Jeff Shedd had a very fine performance, winning the under-eighteen division and taking fourth overall with a sparkling 16:57.
