14th Annual GMAA Rollin Irish Half Marathon

Race Director Comments: Dave Fields called me a few weeks ago to tell me about his new beverage outlet at the intersection of Rt. 127 and Rt. 7. Since he was going to be real busy at the store, I was knighted as the director fo the Rollin Irish Half Marathon. Dave couldn't put his finger on the mile marker locations so Clif Rivers and I remeasured the course. The new course is slightly longer than the old (what else?) and will be submitted to TAC for certification. We also talked about an alternate course that would be a 3.1 mile extensionof the Essex 10 Miler. Please let me know if you would like to hold next year's race on the old course or the proposed new one. The warm conditions made this the slowest race ever but were great for spectating. Hmm, race directing instead of running isn't so bad after all.
