Summary: Perfect racing weather for the 101 finishers. The men's race featured a three person lead pack through three miles. Jim Farrington led Nathan Fields and Michael Early at mile one in a time of 5:03. During the first uphill at mile 3, Nathan took advantage of his hilly Underhill training terrain and passed Jim to take the lead. Nathan never looked back and won his first ever GMAA race in 29:23. Jonathan Miller who was trailing the main pack by several seconds 1.5 miles into the race moved up to second to finish in 29:32. Jim Farrington finished third in 29:44. Nathan and Jim have been dueling throughout this racing season each trading wins between themselves and setting personal bests along the way. In the women's race Jessica Bolduc led off with a quick start getting to mile one in 6:03. Cindy New of Montreal passed her shortly before mile 1.5 and went on to win her third GMAA race of the year in a time of 32:39. Jessica finished second in 33:27. Cady Kintner rounded out the top three with a 35:30 finish. Only one age group record was set for the day - 71 year old Dave Hershberg ran 46:26 for the 70+ record. His performance is more remarkable considering the heart attack he suffered during the 2003 Vermont City Marathon only 15 months earlier.
